Our Story

Bad Hockey for a Good Cause

The earliest version of Yaks Give Back (YGB) arose from the generous nature of a Yaktopia Yaks Adult Hockey Organization member and need for support after a devastating tsunami in Japan in 2011. Not yet known or organized as YGB, several men and women came together to quickly arrange a charity hockey game at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube. Along with matching funds, the Yaks were able to raise over $10,000 to help the victims of the 2011 Japan tsumani.
